On the evening of Wednesday 18th October the Polar, Scientific and geographical communities will be honouring the lifetime achievements of Sir Wally Herbert at a unique Gala Polar Testimonial held at the Royal Geographical Society, London.

The occasion will focus national attention on Sir Wally's achievement in leading the first surface expedition across the Arctic Ocean - via the North Geographic Pole - without airlifts. 

We would like you to join us on this glittering occasion, together with stars from the world's of exploration, science and television, to help us raise funds for Britain's greatest living Polar explorer.

There are two types of ticket available:

* 180 VIP tickets, where guests can enjoy three phases of the evening's entertainment: the Champagne Reception; the 'Polar night with the stars'; and the Polar Dinner and Auction. Recommended donation is £250 per ticket.

* 500 standard tickets, where guests can enjoy the 'Polar night with the stars' performance. Recommended donation is £30 per ticket.
